Terms of Service
ABP Kettlebell · Last updated: 29 October 2026
ABP is a kettlebell training log built and run by one person, through ABP Ventures LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company ("ABP", "we"). These terms are short because the deal is simple. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Who can use ABP
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement where you live. ABP is distributed through Apple's App Store and is available only in the countries where Apple offers it.
The app
The free version of ABP is fully functional and fully local: you can log sessions, see your complete history, and keep every number on your device, without an account and without paying anything.
ABP Pro is a yearly subscription, billed through the App Store at the price shown in the app for your country. It includes the gold finish, cloud sync and backup, file export (JSON + CSV), the main bell — a default bell that fills in loads as you log — and next-workout planning, plus any Pro feature added while your subscription is active.
How the subscription works
- It renews automatically every year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged at renewal, at the price shown in the App Store at that time. If the price changes, Apple tells you first and asks you to agree.
- You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- When Pro ends, nothing of yours is deleted: your complete history stays readable in the app for free, and you can keep logging. Sync pauses; the data already on your device stays on your device.
If ABP ever shuts down
A one-person app can, in principle, close someday. If that ever happens:
- The app is local-first. Your data and your history stay on your device, and the app keeps working offline for as long as it runs on your iPhone.
- We will make reasonable efforts to keep data export available so you can take everything with you.
- We will make reasonable efforts to give at least 90 days' notice before shutting down the sync service. We may be unable to give that notice if a hosting provider, a security incident, or a legal requirement forces a faster stop.
Purchases and refunds
All purchases go through Apple's App Store. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund process — we cannot issue refunds directly. Your subscription follows your Apple Account: on a new device, Restore purchases in the app brings it across at no cost. Nothing in these terms limits the refund rights you have under the law where you live.
Your data
Your training data belongs to you. How we handle it is covered by the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. You can delete your account in the app at any time, for free.
Sync and backup are conveniences, not a guarantee. We work to keep them reliable, but we cannot promise that sync is never interrupted, that a server copy always matches your device, or that lost data can always be recovered. Keep your own export if your history matters to you; export is built for exactly that.
Exercise is at your own risk
ABP is a training log. It is not a medical service and it does not give medical diagnosis, treatment, physical therapy, or individualized advice from a licensed healthcare or fitness professional.
Kettlebell training, resistance exercise, and other physical activity carry inherent risks, including muscle strains, joint injuries, falls, cardiovascular events, permanent disability, and death. You are responsible for assessing your physical condition, choosing exercises and loads, using proper technique and sound equipment, and deciding whether an activity is safe for you. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing an exercise program, particularly if you have a medical condition, an injury, or another health concern.
Movement descriptions and cues, suggested next workouts, suggested loads, progression, levels, streaks, and muscle estimates are general information only. They are built from what you logged, not from an assessment of you. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances, and they are not a substitute for professional judgment.
By choosing to train using information from ABP, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume the inherent risks of that activity. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree not to hold ABP Ventures LLC liable for injuries or losses arising from the inherent risks of physical activity that you voluntarily undertake. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Acceptable use
Use the app for what it is: logging your own training. Do not attempt to break, probe, overload, or abuse the sync service, or to access data that is not yours. We may suspend or close an account that does so, that is used for unlawful activity, or that is a security risk to the service. If we do, your data on your device stays on your device.
What is ours
The app, its code, design, artwork, names, and the built-in movement library belong to ABP Ventures LLC and its licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's App Store terms. Your training data is yours; nothing here gives us ownership of it.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not promise that it is error-free or that it will always be available.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profits, and our total liability for anything arising from these terms or the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow some of these limits; where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. We will not retroactively take away something you paid for, unless the law or the App Store requires it, and then only as far as required.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem, write to us first; most things are solved by email. Disputes that cannot be settled that way are brought in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring them at home.
The rest
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and ABP Ventures LLC about the app. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to you under them, other than what Apple's own terms say.
